MARCH 10: A PRAYER for peace which crosses all boundaries of creed and faith is planned in Swindon tomorrow evening.

Members of all the major faiths represented in the town will gather at the Friends Meeting House at the bottom of Eastcott Hill.

The move comes as the prospect of war in the Gulf looms closer than it has done in more than a decade.

Saddam Hussein has been warned by the United States that he must disarm Iraq within days or face air strikes and invasion.

Tomorrow's prayer evening begins at 7.30pm.

Each of Swindon's faith communities has been invited to offer prayers or readings according to its own tradition.

Irwin Brohier, chairman of the Swindon Inter-Faith Group, said: "We want to bring every religious faith together in Swindon in an expression of peace during these uncertain times."

All who wish to join in their prayers are welcome to attend.
