A DJ who played to a generation of Swindon clubbers has picked up one of the highest honours in the music industry.
Paul Harris spent seven years as a resident DJ in the Amphi room at the Brunel Rooms nightclub in Havelock Square.
He left the club in May last year to form his band Dirty Vegas and has just picked up a Grammy, the American music industry's equivalent of an Oscar.
His dance music act won the Grammy for Best Dance Recording at the New York ceremony for the track Days Go By.
Now the three man band appear to have cracked America and look set for global stardom.
But Brunel Rooms managing director Stephen Reid hasn't ruled out bringing the DJ back to the town that launched him to stardom.
Mr Reid said: "Paul first played here at a One Love night in 1993 and we were introduced through a mutual friend. From 1995 he became a resident playing once a month at our Frisky night.
"We might be able to get him to play here again. He'll spend the summer playing stadia and the outdoor festivals so it would be hard, but who knows?"
The band has developed a unique style, with influences as diverse as Santana, Kraftwerk and Pink Floyd.
Mr Reid says Harris deserves every minute of his fame, having worked hard as a DJ and record producer.
"He never thought it would take off like this but he's a good guy, he was always very popular here as a DJ and as a person.
"Although he is not from Swindon I think a lot of people in the town will know him, he made a lot of friends when he was a resident.
"I think it's cool he's done so well."
