MAY I please reply to Daniel Lake's letter (EA Friday Feb 21). He says he is disgusted with the way peace protesters have been behaving.
I would like to ask him what gives him the right to call them traitors and cowards. Is he aware that a lot of them were wearing British medals for service all over the world? I think he should apologise immediately. I only wish I could have joined them in London but as I had bad times with the V1s and V2s when I was serving in the Army in 1944, I gave it a miss.
It would seem that Daniel thinks that we should be policing the world.
Does Daniel want us to always keep filling the body bags and cemeteries.
Daniel, I took oil pipes to Iraq, served in Palestine and nearly died there.
I see you are going to stand shoulder to shoulder with the US, so I would like your view on an item that was in the US press in 1946 that said: "I have a song in my heart every time a British soldier dies in Palestine''. Over 700 of us did die there. I would like an answer.
