Today we wish Steam museum manager Andrew Lovett all the best for the future.
Despite the obvious difficulties the museum has experienced in attracting enough visitors, he has done an excellent job in turning it into an award-winning attraction.
And his departure should not be seen as a negative thing.
But his advice on how to make the facility a profit-making success story must be heeded.
He has been outspoken about what has not been achieved to date, and there is no question that more effort needs to be made to attract new visitors.
Mr Lovett points out that the original business plan for the project was flawed, but it is not the end of the world, and there simply needs to be a rethink about how the museum can be developed.
Indeed, a five-strong working party of councillors is currently looking at the options for the future, and his advice will be much appreciated.
