Members of Swindon Town Football Club are supporting the National Blood Service in its new campaign.

The campaign, called "A Lot to Say Thank You For," aims to thank donors and blood service staff for all the good work they do.

The launch will take place at the County Ground on Thursday.

Those invited to the launch include donors who have donated more than 50 pints of blood and other regular blood donors.

National Blood Service spokeswoman, Jude Pamington, said: "We wanted to give everyone the chance to say thank you to the donors who save lives."

Jacqui Inglis, 26, from Wootton Bassett, received numerous blood transfusions during her battle against leukaemia 10 years ago.

She said: "It is so important to make people aware that they can become blood and bone marrow donors. I would not be here today without the help of such people."

If you are aged between 17-60 years old, in general good health and weigh over 50kg you could support the campaign. Call the national Donor Helpline on 08457 711 711 to find out where you can donate or visit www.blood.co.uk.
