WHEN Frank Brown met Doreen on the dance floor, he knew she would be his future wife and tomorrow they celebrate 60 years of marriage.
Frank, 80, and Doreen, 79, from Wootton Bassett, met in their teens at a London dance hall in 1941.
Frank said: "I went home on that first night and told mum I had met the girl I was going to marry." Two years later his prediction came true and they had a white wedding in north London.
Doreen said: "I borrowed my wedding dress from a cousin who was married in peacetime. And I made two of the bridesmaids' dresses from an evening gown."
Although Frank served in the RAF during World War Two, the couple still managed a three-day-long honeymoon in Bournemouth.
"We travelled there in the blackout, by steam train. There were shortages everywhere, but we were happy with whatever we had," Doreen added.
They moved to Green Park in Wootton Bassett 15 years ago, where their daughter, Angela, also lives.
Celebrating their wedding anniversary in style, Frank and Doreen plan to go on a Mediterranean cruise.
Doreen said: "The years have just flitted by. Things didn't start so well because of the war. But we managed and worked hard to achieve the happiness we enjoy now."
