AN all weather path and seating are on the cards for the playing field at Maud Heath Primary School at East Tytherton.
North Wiltshire District Council's Chippenham area committee agreed at a meeting on Monday to contribute £500 towards the £1,280 project.
The money will also be used to extend the log trail play area. The school's Friends raised the rest of the money at a Christmas fair.
The area committee decided to support the project because the playing field is used by residents outside school hours, and there is no other children's playground in the parish.
At the same meeting the area committee decided to give Chippenham Pensioners' Voice £500 to promote older people's issues.
Age Concern Chippenham also received £500 to help pay for a day's event to highlight the services available in north Wiltshire.
The North Wiltshire Youth Band was also given a grant of £500 to enable it to train more young people in brass band music. It performs in the community, and needs funding to buy secondhand brass instruments.
The area committee declined to make an award to the Cleveland Bay Endeavour, a group dedicated to highlighting the plight of the endangered horse breed.
