SALISBURY law firm Whitehead Vizard has welcomed two new solicitors.
Carmel Winskill specialises in residential conveyancing and Rob O'Hanrahan in company commercial law.
Mrs Winskill, who qualified last year, served as an army officer from 1994 to 1999.
Graduating with a law degree in 1993, she attended the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, receiving a commission with the Adjutant General's Corps.
She served as an administration officer with a Scottish infantry battalion, as a troop commander with the Royal Signals and as an education instructor at several of the army's training establishments.
Having attained the rank of captain, she resigned her commission and returned to full-time education.
After completing the legal practice course and a two-year training contract, she decided to specialise in property work.
Mr O'Hanrahan graduated with an honours degree in law from the University of Huddersfield in 1998.
He then worked in sales and marketing for an American company in Leeds before attending the University of Sheffield Law School for his legal practice course.
He then completed his two-year training contract, during which he specialised in corporate transactional work.
Mrs Winskill, who lives in Amesbury, said: "I welcome the opportunity to move into an environment where my career can develop."
Mr O'Hanrahan lives in Salisbury. He said: "It is good for my career to move into a department that is strong, with a firm that is strong locally."
Mrs Winskill and Mr O'Hanrahan are two of 12 solicitors at the firm.
