THIRTEEN members of staff at Specsavers Opticians in Swindon have been recognised by their firm for clocking up 99 years of service between them.
Specsavers store director David Greives awarded all 13 members of staff, who work at the Havelock Square outlet, with a certificate and pin badge for their long service.
Said Mr Greives: "These members of staff have worked at the store between five and 14 years and, in this day and age, that is quite an achievement.
"I believe that happiness and loyalty are the two key factors that make a productive workforce and customers notice and benefit from this."
The firm boasts 499 stores nationwide and last year saw an annual turnover of more than £500m. It was voted Britain's most trusted brand of opticians in 2002 by Reader's Digest.
Lorraine Akers, the store's longest serving member of staff, with 14 years under her belt, said: "It's good to know that each member of staff is recognised and valued by management for their commitment and hard work in the store."
