WESTLECOT senior ladies are the toast of Wiltshire's top bowls club after winning the English Women's Indoor Bowling Association Over 60s Double Rinks Championship.
It was the first national title to be won by either the men's or women's indoor section since ity oened in 1983.
In the last stages of the Over 60s Double Rinks staged in Basingstoke last Friday Westlecot were in awesome form. They thrashed Cornish side Carnmoggas (St Austell) 58-23 in the semi-finals and then in the final they beat Cheshunt (Herts) 48-29 with the two rinks skipped by Josie Lloyd and Doris Woodley winning both of their matches.
