CALNE'S Young People's Town Council is appealing for youngsters to boost numbers and offer fresh ideas.
The group originally had 16 volunteer members, including a chairman, vice-chairman and treasurer, but recently numbers have fallen as members have finished their education and moved out of the town.
The YPTC was set up in 1993 by former mayor Mike White who felt Calne's young people were not represented in the decisions of the council.
It was intended to give young people, aged between 11 and 18, from Calne and the surrounding villages, a voice in the community they live in.
The group has initiated a number of successful schemes, including its latest project, Calne's fledgling cinema.
The YPTC also campaigned for the new bypass to be built in Calne.
Paul Smith, a member for four years said: "The purpose of the young people's council is to highlight youth issues in the town.
"We try to see if there is anything we can help with or support, such as the bid for a skateboard park in Calne."
