A FRIGHTENING demon descended on a Calne playgroup fundraiser, but failed to put a dampener on the event.
Demon Sheerspite and other friends from The Calne Players, including the pantomime dame and Robin Hood, joined in the fun at the fundraiser for Guthrie's and Jack and Jill's playgroups.
The Early Easter Fayre had been scheduled to open in the town hall from 10am to 2pm, but the stalls sold out of stock so quickly the organisers closed at 1pm.
Guthrie's Playgroup committee chairman Sharon Hopkins, said: "The green demon terrified some of the children and one or two burst into tears.
"But the event was a really successful and we were pleased. We wanted to do some fundraising for both groups and try and get the children involved as much as possible."
