DEVIZES Town Council has changed its investment brokers after it lost up to £100,000 with previous brokers.
The new brokers are Bath-based Accrue Investment Management. Representative Gavin Allcott presented three options for the council to invest £260,000 to the council's community and civic resources committee last week.
The committee unanimously agreed to put the money into a higher risk option.
Mr Allcott said although the option adopted was technically higher risk than the others he presented, some of the council's money would be invested in high yielding blue chip companies.
The council wants any money it gains from its investment on the Stock Exchange to be put towards the £520,000 loan which was taken out some years ago to carry out an extensive refurbishment of the Corn Exchange.
