After a ten day coma, two bouts of pneumonia, four hospitals and severe malnutrition, paperboy David Gallagher is now back at home following his bike accident.
Thirteen year-old David, of Faringdon Road, Swindon was knocked off his bike by a motorcyclist in December as he cycled up Kingshill helping a friend with his paper round.
He spent time in four hos-pitals, (including his period in a coma,) the old and the new in Swindon, Oxford and finally Bath getting specialist treat-ment.
But he was discharged last Thursday and is now starting to take up some of his favourite hobbies again and even looking forward to going back to Commonweal school.
David's mum Carol Tilden, 33, said: "These last three months have just been exhausting, completely mentally and physically draining for the whole family."
David said: "I don't remember being in the Oxford hospital at all, even when I was conscious it's just a big blank to me, but I remember being in the Swindon hospital, then I went to the unit in Bath."
David is now looking forward to seeing his friends and taking up his hobbies of ice-skating and golf again.
