CHIPPENHAM moved into the next round of the Bath Combination Cup with a comfortable 25-3 victory over Frome at Allington Field.
They opted to play into the wind for the first half, but for a time failed to convert their pressure into points.
Frome also had their chances early on and found themselves camped on the Chippenham line.
However, Chippenham's unyielding defence forced the visitors to kick a solitary penalty for the lead.
Chippenham then stepped up a gear, with the forwards dominant in all phases, including a notable performance from lock forward Neil Watkins.
They opened their account with a touchdown from Trevor Lloyd following a break from Darren McMillan.
Their supremacy allowed winger Dave Wells to power his way to the corner to increase the lead to 10-3.
Watkins then drove forward to complete a brilliant 15-man move and offload to Lloyd who chipped infield for hooker Wes Newson to score.
Chippenham then ended the half with centre Barnes cutting outside the defence for the fourth try.
The second half was a damage limitation exercise for the visitors and Chippenham managed just one further score, as skipper Rupert Crockett crossed.
