Last week at work I attended our annual fire training session, provided by Wiltshire Fire Brigade. Besides looking at on-site fire safety and fires in the home, we were shown a video about arson at commercial properties which particularly emphasised the need for "good housekeeping" by moving flammable materials such as paper and wood waste well away from vulnerable buildings.
Coming home past the Westlea Fire Station today, I noticed a large quantity of abandoned wooden pallets left over from the recent strike action - leaning conveniently against the outside of the station building.
Another case of a public body promulgating one message and itself implementing another? It's a funny old world!
