MINIS RUGBY: IT was derby time again as Supermarine hosted a series of minis squads from local rivals Swindon.
At under seven level, the hosts lent their opponents a player for two clashes.
And Swindon won the opener 6-4, with two tries from George Bates plus touchdowns for Alex Jenkins, Josh Lee, Liam Griffiths and Sam Powell.
Marine responded with scores for Robert O'Dwyer, Alex Smith, Ryan Thompson and Adam Bartlett.
Game two ended level at 3-3, as Bates added another two tries and Stuart Carver, Adam Bartlett and Josh Morete crossed for the home side.
Marine also lent their under eight opponents a player, but it was again Swindon that won the first clash 4-2.
Tries came from Nick Arrell, Louis Trinder with a couple from Declan Thomas, with Kane Baker and Matthew Lehmann replying.
In the second game, tries by Thomas, Trinder (2), Arrell and Jacob Ford helped Swindon to a 6-2 win.
The visitors won the under nines clash 8-1, while Swindon's under 10s took on the hosts under 11s in a double-header.
Despite a strong effort from both sides, the opening game was scoreless, but it was Marine who had the upper hand in the second.
Jack Durrant finally broke through to give the home side victory.
In the 12 and under clash, Swindon got the upper hand in the first half when Callum Ayris crossed.
Marine hit back with converted try before Grant Walker crossed for the visitors.
Walker added another and Ayris added the conversion.
Another converted try for the hosts closed the gap to three points and it took a stunning try-saving tackle from Kyran Howitt to preserve Swindon's advantage.
