THE TEAM behind Corsham Festival have been appointed to run the Pound Arts Centre in a move aimed at safeguarding the artistic future of the town.
Trustees of the Corsham Festival were appointed to run the arts centre at an extraordinary meeting of the Pound Arts Trust on Thursday.
The trustees will work alongside art centre administrator Tricia McLeod with Corsham Festival director Nicholas Keyworth appointed as the art centre's director.
Corsham Festival and the Pound Arts Centre will continue to be run separately but it is hoped the joint-management bid will safeguard the future of both organisations.
Ian Martin, chairman of both charities, said: "The Pound Arts Trust is as committed as ever to the people and groups who use the arts centre, to the future regeneration of the building and to the long term development of the arts in north Wiltshire."
Director Nicholas Keyworth said he hoped funding would continue to flow from North Wiltshire District Council to help boost the profile of the arts venue.
He said: "Over the next few months, a number of improvements will be introduced which are designed to raise the profile of the arts centre, bring additional arts activity to the district and encourage greater use of the facilities."
