WEST Wiltshire MP Andrew Murrison has warned that council taxes are soaring by four times the rate of inflation.
The MP's outspoken attack on rising costs under the Labour government comes just weeks after it was announced that tax payers in Wiltshire will have to pay up to £100 more council tax in 2003/4.
Dr Murrison said: "Taxes have soared under labour, without the improvements in public services that we all want to see.
"Council taxes have risen by three times the rate of inflation every year since 1997.
"Come April, local residents across the country will face a council tax hike of four times the rate of inflation, as well as smaller wage packets thanks to the increase in National Insurance."
