REFUSE collectors at Kennet District Council have celebrated achieving success in National Vocational Qualifications.
A spokesman for Kennet said it was unusual for refuse collectors to study for NVQs and it demonstrated the council's commitment to developing its staff.
Four refuse staff have now got NVQs. Vince Kimber, who already holds a waste management NVQ at Level 4, successfully completed an assessor's qualification.
Dave Hawkins and Marcus Paget have achieved NVQ Level 2 in refuse collection, and Phil Collins has achieved his NVQ Level 1 in refuse collection.
Mr Kimber said: "When we asked the lads to take part in the training we had 100 per cent take-up. They all wanted to be involved."
