CORSHAM'S tenure at the bottom of the Screwfix League was a miserable but brief experience, writes Craig Lyus.

The Southbank side plummeted to the basement following last Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Clyst, but an impressive 4-0 win over Cadbury Heath on Monday night lifts the Wiltshire club out of the drop zone.

Corsham are not out of trouble yet however.

Just two points separate the bottom five sides, so co-bosses John Freegard and Dave King will be looking to continue Monday's momentum against visiting league leaders Exmouth.

Striker Freegard is a doubt for the game. The player boss hobbled off after scoring Corsham's second against the Heath.

Sorry defeats against Elmore and Bridport in the past seven days leave Robbie Lardner's men 12th.

Perennial strugglers Odd Down have moved one place above Melksham after a recent purple patch and will provide a stern test to the Conigre men.
