ENVIRONMENTAL health officers have warned shoppers about contaminated bottles of Kelvenoff Vodka, which may contain dangerous levels of methanol.
The brand has the same distinctive shape and silver/grey label and gold and white writing as Imperial Valkonov Vodka, which officers last week warned could contain dangerous levels of the same substance.
Swindon council spokesman Gavin Calthrop said: "The Food Standards Agency is awaiting analysis of the contents of these bottles. However, given the similarity of packaging and information on the label the agency feels it would be prudent to assume that these bottles are variations on the vodka in the original alert and may be contaminated with methanol."
Anyone who has bought a bottle of either brand or has seen it on sale should call the council's environmental health department on Swindon 466112.
