Big hair was the style of the day at the Leapfrog Day Nursery as staff and children celebrated Comic Relief.
The children, all aged between three and five, came to school with natural hair, but nursery staff showed off their creative skills and performed hair-raising feats.
Tracey Wallis, deputy manager of the nursery in St Andrews Ridge, said the children loved getting involved with Comic Relief.
She said: "The children have been looking forward to Comic Relief all week. All the staff have contributed to the day bringing in sprays, gels and they are using all their own ideas for the hair as long as it washes out."
Nursery assistant Sam Easy said: "It is a fantastic cause and all the children have been really enjoying themselves."
Natalie Kearney, a nursery assistant and top stylist for the day, said: "It is all about making the hair as big and as mad as possible. The children seem to love it that way."
Yujing Chang, four, who had her hair decorated on the day said: "I am having a good day, my hair looks great."
