ANDY KING has added Leicester City midfielder Junior Lewis to his squad, and a First Division striker could yet follow as Town look to get back on the winning track against Bristol City.

The Town boss promised he would shake things up after a third successive defeat and either Matty Hewlett, Steve Robinson or Stefani Miglioranzi look set to miss tomorrow's game.

Lewis, 29, trained with Town for the first time yesterday after agreeing a month's loan with King, subject to Football League approval.

The Town boss then spent the afternoon trying to strengthen his squad further with the acquisition of a proven striker, believed to be with a play-off chasing First Division club.

He said: "Junior fits the type that I want. He is left-footed and will add balance to the midfield three.

"He is a big lad and has played at the top. He also had a spell at this level with Brighton last year and did well. I tried to get him earlier in the season but he didn't want to go out on loan at the time.

"But this is not with a view to a move. We couldn't afford his wages and he has a year left on his contract.

"I am also looking to move on someone else, a striker. I will do anything to try and get us those extra few points that we need.

"By bringing Junior in I am making a statement to the senior players that the season is not over.

"They better believe it and they will as it will be one of the seniors who will be left out if Junior starts."

Lewis himself, who has netted one goal in 12 starts for the Foxes this year, is happy to be on board albeit temporarily.

He said: "I wanted to play some football before the end of the season and I jumped at the chance to join Swindon.

"It's a good challenge for me and one I'm looking forward to.

"When I was at Brighton on loan last year, they gave me licence to get forward and I managed to get a few goals. But wherever the manager wants to play me, I'll give it my best shot.

"There are a few familiar faces here as I played for Brighton against Swindon at the end of last season."

One man unlikely to be involved against City is left wing-back Jon Beswetherick.

The former Plymouth Argyle defender will return to Sheffield Wednesday but King has not ruled out the possibility of renewing his interest in the summer.

King said: "Jon's loan will not be extended for another month.

"The sending off against Cheltenham hasn't helped. "He started well but hasn't been fantastic in the last couple of games.

"But maybe we'll look at it again in the summer."
