A 27-17 triumph at Dorchester maintained Wootton Bassett 2nd excellent Dorset & Wilts 2nd XV Merit Table form.
It was the day for the youth of the Bassett pack to shine as Danny Toon went over for a try after 15 minutes, Gareth Williams converting.
The next to score was flanker Dave Barnett who drove in under the posts, Williams again adding the two points.
Dorchester crossed the line twice in quick succession, but Williams slotted a penalty to pull Bassett seven points clear at the break.
Toon notched his second try and the reliable boot of Williams increased the lead in the second period. Dorchester managed one more converted try, but the boot of Williams set the seal on Bassett's triumph.
BASSETT Ladies avenged their 35-10 opening day South West East Three defeat by St Mary's by handing their opponents a whopping 47-22 beating.
The Saints were off the mark first with an early try, but Bassett took control with a score from centre Sam Morgan.
Another try gave St Mary's the 10-7 half-time lead, but Bassett turned on an exhibition of running rugby in the second half.
Winger Jay Cunnigham scored under the posts, Morgan converting, and Bev Webster crossed to increase the tally.
Centre Leatitia Delaney added two fine tries under the posts for Morgan to convert both.
A lapse allowed their opponents a converted score, but fly-half Ellie Faulkener sprinted half the length of the pitch to touch down and Sandra Toole also crossed, Morgan converting both.
St Mary's managed a consolation try in the dying minutes.
