SWINDON Town Ladies picked up three points when they travelled to face Aylesbury United in the South West Combination League and won 4-0.
Play was fairly even with both sides creating openings. Louise Corcoran split the Aylesbury defence to find Lucy Bailey but the keeper was quickly out to block the shot.
In the 33rd minute Town took the lead. Kim Reeves latched onto an Aylesbury goal kick to knock the ball forward into the path of Lucy Bailey who drove it low into the net.
Three minutes later Town increased their lead following a neat passing move between Hayley Sprules and Nikki Watts that created an opening for Corcoran to rifle the ball beyond the diving keeper.
Aylesbury started the second half brightly but Town gradually got into their stride and increased their lead in the 57th minute.
Corcoran played a neat ball onto Bailey, but the Aylesbury keeper blocked the ball on the edge of the penalty area. Reeves latched onto the free ball to coolly lob it into the empty net.
Town were threatening on the break and Nikki Watts and Lucy Bailey both went close before they scored a fourth in the 71st minute.
Watts dropped a perfect pass over the Aylesbury defence for Bailey to run onto to score from close range. This was another good team performance against a team that has struggled to make an impact on the league this season.
