MALMESBURY virtually secured the under 13 title with an emphatic win over nearest rivals Eldene.

The under 14 Division is still in the balance after leaders Mitel were held by Croft, giving Stratton and Malmesbury a glimmer of hope.

Cirencester Juniors and Liden Community continue to slug it out at the top of the under 15 section.

Champions-elect Malmesbury were 5-2 winners at second-placed Eldene Colts.

The triumph was Malmesbury's 10th in 10 league games and Eldene have little chance of catching their rivals now.

The only side looking capable of mounting an outside challenge is third-placed Cricklade.

The Swindon side were 3-2 winners at Cirencester and 1-0 victors against Highworth last week.

The win over fourth-placed Highworth was particularly satisfying, with the scoreline scarcely doing Cricklade justice.

The hosts dominated possession before breaking the deadlock on 10 minutes when James Lally crossed to Luke Hunt who fired home. Highworth missed a golden opportunity to level when Martin Parmenter fired wide from the penalty spot.

Mitel's failure to beat Croft at home has given the chasing pack a ray of hope.

The leaders could only draw 0-0, with Shaun Stevens having a goal ruled out and Tom Davies striking the woodwork.

Stratton Youth and Malmesbury were quick to take advantage of the Mitel blip.

Stratton were 3-1 winners at home to mid-table Tetbury Town to leave them four points adrift.

Malmesbury are a point further back following a comfortable 7-0 success over Cirencester Cents.

Fourth-placed Highworth still have a mathematical chance of defending their crown after a 6-0 win against Cirencester Juniors at the Corinium Stadium.

Alex Parker hit the target within two minutes and went on to add three more to his own tally.

Lorien Bardwell doubled the lead on 21 minutes and Tom Donegan made it three shortly after.

Parker notched his second before the interval and completed his hat-trick 12 minutes after the restart with a fine solo strike.

The striker netted his fourth on the hour, converting a Ben Tollington cross.

Elsewhere in the division, Wroughton thrashed Bourton 13-0.

Liden Community continue to pressurise Cirencester Juniors at the top of the table following another convincing win.

A 13-1 mauling of lowly Northleach moves Liden a point behind the leaders, but with a game in hand, the second-placed side are considered favourites for the title with five games left to play.

Swindon Eagles seem set to capture third place after securing a hard-fought 2-1 win at Malmesbury.

Wootton Bassett moved above Malmesbury into sixth thanks to a very impressive 4-1 win at fourth-placed Stratton Juniors.
