YOUNGSTERS in Swindon have been asked to name their favourite author.
A new project, the Fantastic Fiction Award, was launched last week.
Teenagers will get the chance to review books and nominate their favourite author for the award.
Youngsters were invited to come up with a name and design a logo to promote the scheme.
The winners, announced on Friday at a presentation at West Swindon Library, were David Maynard, 13, and Andy White, 14.
The two Commonweal School pupils each received music vouchers worth £20, which were presented by Coun David Cox, deputy leader of Swindon Borough Council.
Librarian Robin Griffiths, who helped to judge the competition, said: "We have been very impressed with the level of entries and congratulations go to David and Andy.
"We would also like to thank all those who entered the competition as their work was very much appreciated."
Youngsters can nominate authors for the award by visiting www.swindon.gov.uk/fantasticfictionaward
Writers will be shortlisted in the autumn, and the prize will be awarded in December.
