STREET warden patrols have been hailed as a success in a report.
A street warden scheme, covering Parks and Walcot, was launched by Swindon Council last July 5.
It has now reached its full anticipated strength of nine wardens and an administrator.
Now an assessment of the wardens' effectiveness, carried out by council officers, has concluded that they are successful in their work.
The wardens' presence is intended largely as a high profile deterrent to minor offences and disorder.
Their work is praised in a report to go before the local authority's housing advisory forum on Monday.
The report also notes that two Government audits have given the scheme "glowing reports".
It adds: "The street wardens have settled well within the community and have made some strong links with existing council, community and external agencies.
"This has resulted in the wardens providing a seamless clean and safe approach to their work."
Monday's meeting will be held at the Civic Offices in Euclid Street, beginning at 7pm.
