Highworth boss John Fisher admitted it was time to rebuild for next season after his side were emphatically dumped out of the Wiltshire Senior Cup last night.
Fisher's troops slumped to a 4-0 semi-final defeat against Melksham at Nursteed Road to leave the Swindon side with no hope of picking up any silverware this year.
Goals from Nigel Tripp, Matty Messenger and the Banks brothers, Gary and Kevin, gave the Screwfix League outfit a comfortable victory over their Hellenic League counterparts. Melksham go on to face Calne or Devizes in the final.
Cirencester Town ended their long win-drought in the Dr Martens League with a deserved 3-1 home success against Bedworth.
Ben Fitch gave Ciren a half-time lead and James Constable doubled the advantage 53 minutes into his debut. James Hughes put the game beyond Bedworth with the third on 65, before Lee Ross hit a late consolation from the spot.
Wootton Bassett slipped to a very disappointing 1-0 home defeat against bottom of the table Wantage in the Hellenic Premier Division.
The Oxfordshire strugglers picked up a rare victory thanks to Mark Stevens' 63rd-minute strike.
Fairford take on Tuffley in the Hellenic Premier this evening, while New College host Purton in Division One.
