A CHEQUE for £2,000 has been presented to Liden Primary School.
The money, which was raised by the school's Parent-Teacher Association will be used to provide new table and wall activities in a new quiet area of the playground.
New trees will also be planted with the money to finish off the general landscaping of the playground.
Headteacher Paul Kohn said: "The PTA has been extremely supportive over the last few years.
"We can now make the finishing touches to the playground.
"Everything they have done has been much appreciated, particularly by the children."
The continuing improvements follow the opening of a £1.5 million new building in October 2001. Around 370 children aged between four and 11 go to the school.
The PTA held a variety of events throughout last year to raise the money, including fashion shows and summer fetes.
