PUPILS at Robert Le Kyng Primary School are sitting pretty thanks to Cellular Operations.

Cellular Operations mobile phone company, based in Peatmoor, has donated a special wooden bench to the school after their old benches were vandalised.

Barbara Jose, acting head teacher at the Westcott Street primary said: "It is sad that five benches that had been donated by Friends, our school support group, have been so badly damaged.

"We are extremely grateful to Cellular Operations for their generosity."

The new bench is made from heavy duty material designed to withstand vandalism.

"The children are really excited about the bench. It is certainly a robust seat and I trust it will give our pupils many years of service," Mrs Jose added.

This is not the first time Cellular Operations has supported Swindon Schools. Last year the company was involved with the Child Victims of Crime Safety Initiative at Peatmoor Primary School in West Swindon.

Sue Frawley, human resources director at Cellular Operations, said: "We take pride in helping local schools, attended by many children of our employees.

"When we heard how dangerous these vandalised benches had become, we were keen to help out and give them somewhere safe to sit."
