THE Swindon League's Knockout Cup has progressed to the quarter-final stage, with New Asians the only casualty among the fancied sides.
The top flight side were convincingly beaten by Division 3 leaders Chameleon, for whom Andy Marsh took 3-10 to limit New Asians to 63.
Other Division One sides GWR, Asians and Swindon all had easy passages.
The league positions are becoming much clearer, with only four weeks of the season left.
Asians are confirmed as champions of Division 1, their latest victims being already relegated Nalgo, while Swindon enhanced their prospects of finishing as runners-up by defeating Civil Service by four wickets in the final over.
Shrivenham clinched the Division 2 title by hammering relegation- threatened Wanborough by six wickets and seeing closest rivals Nalgo 2nd fall to lowly United Churches, who posted the day's top score of 17-4, Andy Foster with 53.
Chameleon continued to go well in both league and cup, despite losing to late-charging Nalgo 3rd, who may well be promoted from Division 3 themselves.
In Division 4, Faringdon and Swindon 2nd look favourites for promotion, the latter having despatched Woodlands by 31 runs in their latest fixture, Andy Phipps top-scoring with an unbeaten 39.
