SIMON Charity has urged his team mates to bounce back from the disappointment of Saturday's defeat.

The Bluebirds utility man has a second placed finish in his sights and believes an end-of-season slump would tarnish a fine first season at Dr Martens Premier Division level.

He said: "We have been on the crest of a wave this season, but it just seems at the moment we have come to quite an abrupt halt.

"Everybody has their bad patches in a season and we seem to be going through ours at the moment. We have done so well this year that we just can't let it slip now. All of the players have got to dig deep and push this thing on until the end of the season.''

Charity played in central midfield alongside Gary Horgan on Saturday after Mark Badman was ruled out with an ankle injury.

Although he played in that position during his first four years with the club, Charity has been converted to a right back this season and admitted he is more at ease in his new position.

He said: "I do prefer playing at full back now. It is difficult to go into a different position for one game but, with the injuries we've had, it has to be done.''
