SWINDON AND DISTRICT LEAGUE: WOOLWORTHS are the Division Two champions after beating their nearest rivals, Queenstown Reserves, 4-1.

Woolies' scorers were Jason Kearns with a hat-trick and Ken Richards.

They were reduced to 10 men when defender Alan Byrne was sent off after bringing down an opponent in the penalty area. Queenstown scored from the resulting spot kick.

The result opened up the race for the runners-up spot, as Westlecot United closed in on Queenstown with a 6-0 victory over bottom club Lower Stratton Reserves.

Westlecot's reserve player Steve Botting scored four and Osagie Ekiomado the other two.

Stratton Argyle made a disastrous start to the season, but are now well on the road to recovery, winning their fourth match on the trot by beating Manor 2-0 with goals from Kev Taylor and James Aghabi.

In the Premier, Allied Goodheart beat Westwood Contractors 2-1, with Steve White scoring both for the victors, and Tony Sollis replying.

County Ground turned in another below-par display, losing 2-1 to Custom Homes. County Ground's scorer was Colin Baker.

Signarama eased past Lower Stratton 3-1. Brian Halestrap put Signarama ahead, and Richard Thompson and Scott Rouse sealed the victory.

In Division One, table-toppers Vicaima United dropped points in a 1-1 draw with mid-table South Marston Carriers. The Vicaima scorer was Dave Jones.

SKS Blyskawica beat Queenstown 2-1 in a competitive game. Rob Sawyer and Chris Kyle scored for the winners, and Andy Boccia put through his own net to score for Queenstown.

Southbrook were the day's second highest scorers, thrashing Spectrum XI 9-0. On target were Lewis Polden (2), Gareth Walton (2), Darren Keighley (2), Jason Castle, Tim Pearson and Gary Milligan. James Packer notched Spectrum's consolation.

In Division Three, The Regent, in second place behind champions The Worthington, romped to a 10-0 victory over bottom club Homebase. Their scorers were defender David Woloszczynski (3), Tony McFarlane (2), Stuart Davidson (2), Tony Sardo (2) and Leon Jackson.
