YOUTH FOOTBALL: TWO of the strongest teams in the Wiltshire Times and Chippenham News Mid-Wilts Youth and Minor League met in two epic cup semi-finals, with honours ending even.

Swindon's Green Baize and Trowbridge Wanderers both boasted unbeaten records in the under 11s division and the two clashed in a cup double header.

Something had to give, and as it turned out, both lost their unblemished records over the course of the two games.

Green Baize were victorious in the league cup semi-final on Wednesday, with Jordan Brown's goal enough to secure a 1-0 win and a place in the final.

The two clubs met again in the last four of the County Cup on Sunday, with the Wanderers desperate for revenge.

Further silverware looked to be slipping away as Green Baize stormed into a 2-0 lead deep into the second half.

But a stunning Trowbridge comeback saw the hosts hit a trio of late goals to win 3-2 and book their place in Wiltshire's end of season soccer showpiece.

Billy Bodin son of former Swindon star Paul gave Green Baize a 1-0 lead before the break with an exquisite chip.

A superb team goal rounded off by Marcus Welch handed the visitors a seemingly unassailable 2-0 advantage.

Trowbridge piled forward in a bid to rescue the tie, and two goals by Declan Harrison and one for Jason Henley made it 3-2.

Under 12s League Cup

WARMINSTER Highbury took a 1-0 lead at the break in their game against Chippenham Town Youth.

In this very even game Zak Klukowski brought the scores level before Chippenham scored their second and winning goal through David Brown.

Under 16s League Cup

RED Division leaders Malmesbury Youth played host to Blue Division leaders FC Chippenham in the semi-final.

There were many chances throughout the game but neither side could make their chances count and the score at the end of normal time was 0-0.

FC Chippenham booked their place with a golden goal.

James Ford, Liam Fulham and Scott Lye all scored for AFC Corsham in the first ten minutes of their tie against Stratton Juniors.

Stratton brought the game level at 3-3 by the end of normal time and went on to score a golden goal in extra-time to win the game at 4-3. Stratton's goals came from Steven Cook (3) and Daniel Cosway.

Under 17s-18s Division

CROFT Juniors narrowed the gap at the top of the table to just two points following their away victory against Bath Arsenal.

The nine man squad from Bath held out well for most of the first half, limiting their visitors to just a single goal. Bath continued to hold out when on the hour mark before Croft scored their second before going on to finish 6-0 winners. Eddie Jose (2), Martin Stratford (2), Ben Harris and Paul McCarthy scored for Croft.

The mid-table clash between Swindon Vultures and visitors Malmesbury Juniors ended 4-4. David Simonscics, Damien Debono, Johan Sutton and Timothy Kerrigan scored for the Vultures.

Under 16s Red Division

DEVIZES maintained their second place in the table following their clash with third place Salisbury Juniors.

Devizes took a 2-0 lead but Salisbury were up to the challenge and were soon back level at 2-2. Devizes raised their game and scored two more goals before the interval to lead 4-2.

Both sides battled on throughout the second half and a late goal from the visitors was not enough with Devizes running out 4-3 winners. Nathan Moffat (2), Ashley Rake and Daniel Kingsbury scored for Devizes, with R Mullen, D Elliott and G Martin replying for Salisbury.

A hat-trick from Adam Curry was enough to clinch the points for Trowbridge Town Youth in their 3-2 home defeat of Pewsey Vale.

Trowbridge Wanderers ran out 5-1 away winners against Box Youth. Jimmy Cooke scored for Box.

Under 15s Red Division

FC CHIPPENHAM recorded their biggest win of the season by running out 10-1 winners at home to Pewsey Vale.

Andy Bull notched up a magnificent seven for FC, with other goals from Lee Blackmore (2) and a penalty from goalkeeper Dave Ivermee .

The game between Shaw Youth and visitors Marlborough Town was 0-0 at the interval. Marlborough took the lead in the second half before the game was stopped for 30 minutes due to a player suffering a suspected broken ankle.

When play resumed Marlborough doubled their lead before a late goal from the home side saw the game end at 2-1. Tom Husseyan scored for Shaw.

Under 14s Red Division

AMESBURY extended their unbeaten league run to 18 games with a 10-5 home game against AFC Corsham to put the pressure firmly on their last game of the season against title rivals Chippenham Town Rangers.

The title race is still on for Chippenham Town Rangers following their close encounter at Calne Town Youth. Chippenham took the lead in the first half then extended this to 3-0 in the second half.

The last 10 minutes provided a nail-biting finish, with Calne scoring twice but running out of time to steal a point as the game finished at 3-2 to the visitors. Ben Butterfield, Sam Jones and Jack Coathupe scored for Rangers, with Jamie Davis and Chris Mochan replying for Calne.

T Kersham and S Hedges scored for FC Chippenham in their 2-0 victory against Lavington Bandits.

Under 13s Blue Division

THE game between Trowbridge Town Youth and visitors FC Chippenham saw a very entertaining first half, but no goals.

Trowbridge stepped up a gear in the second half, scoring two quick goals from Scott Cunningham. It was still end to end, but Chippenham were unable to finish and with two more goals from Trowbridge, through Liam Richards and Danny Amoroso, the game ended 4-0.

Under 13s Red Division

ROB Manning put Shaw and Whitley ahead in their home game against leaders Croft Juniors.

Croft soon replied and were level at 1-1 at the interval. Shaw battled hard but the superior finishing of the visitors showed and with two more goals they finished 3-1 winners. Philip Titcombe, Lee Robbins and Sam Elwell scored for Croft.

Devizes Blues started brightly but had to work hard to break down a determined visiting Trowbridge Town Youth side. The opening goal was scored by L Mceniry after he chased down a goalkeeper's clearance.

The Blues' second goal was a well taken shot by A Hill from outside the box which flew into the net. The Blues played some good passing football in the second half resulting in two further goals, from J Muir and Mceniry, to finish 4-0 winners.

Under 12s Blue Division

TROWBRIDGE Wanderers extended their lead at the top of the table to five points following their 5-1 away win over FC Chippenham. Richard Boulter scored for Chippenham.

Under 12s Red Division

PEWSEY Vale's unbeaten run this season continued with a a 7-0 away success over Shaw and Whitley which places them firmly on top, with a six point advantage and two games in hand.

FC Chippenham earned their fifth win of the season following their 10-1 victory against visitors Melksham Park 2nds. Ben Pantry (4), Bradley Taylor (3), Liam Stallard, Rory Andrews and Conner Bell scored for Chippenham.

White Horse Juniors controlled the run of play in the first half of their away game against AFC Corsham and were 4-0 ahead at the break.

Corsham got on top of their game in the second half, limiting the visitors to just two decisive strikes and scoring once themselves through Tom Lye to see the game end at 6-1. Jon Hemmings (2), Craig Ewles (3) and Chris Carter scored for White Horse.

Westbury United allowed Westbury Youth and Castle Combe to enjoy playing under their floodlights with both teams enjoying the experience which produced a very entertaining game.

Castle Combe played some good attacking football and went close to scoring on a few occasions but could not stop Westbury Youth recording their ninth straight win, maintaining their second place spot in the league with a 4-0 result. Steve Smart scored a hat-trick and Ben Failrey added a single.

Under 11s Division Two

IN a bottom of the table clash, home side Castle Combe Colts came out on top with a convincing 6-1 victory over White Horse Juniors.

Castle Combe's goals came from Matthew Harding, James Harding, Georgie Nash, Harry Fenwick and Jack Waller.

FC Chippenham took the lead in the first minute of their away game against Chippenham Town Youth. FC doubled their lead at half-time before going on to lead 4-0. Ryan Kubilius scored a consolation goal late on to see the game finish at 4-1.

Under 11s Division Three

FC CHIPPENHAM had several chances in the first half of their game at AFC Corsham to turn their domination in to goals but were unable to take them and it was 0-0 at half-time.

In the second half Chippenham took the lead through Alex Horn but AFC Corsham soon equalised. Corsham showed Chippenham how to finish and ended the game 6-1 winners. Corsham's goals came from Jack Payne (4), James May (penalty) and Steven Bull.

Under 10s Division Two

AFC CORSHAM Jaguars fought back from a goal down to gain a 5-1 home win over Melksham Park.

Ben Wyborne scored a hat-trick and Darren Moss and Simon Burt added singles.
