PEOPLE are being encouraged to walk around the boundaries of Devizes to raise money for Mayor Catherine Brown's appeal.
The annual sponsored walk takes place on April 27 starting from Devizes Sports Club at 10am.
Councillor Ray Taylor, who inaugurated the walk during his mayoral year in 1997, hopes that the event is well supported.
Money raised from the event will go to the Mayor's Appeal, which is raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The walk follows the historic parish boundaries of Devizes.
It is about seven miles and people are asked to allow three hours to complete it. Coun Taylor said: "There will be a variety of walking conditions and gradients, none severe, and few obstacles."
Refreshments will be provided on the route as well as back at the Sports Club. Maps of the route will be provided and a certificate presented to people who complete the walk.
Entry and sponsorship forms are available from the town hall, Southbroom Youth Centre and Devizes Leisure Centre.
