A WOMAN whose ex-boyfriend drove his people-carrier through the wall of her house says she has nightmares and flashbacks.
Kerry Dobson, 31, of Penhill Drive has spoken of her horror as Darren Haakanson, 33, rammed her home after a heated argument in January, causing £20,000-worth of damage.
Haakanson was jailed for two-and-a-half years at Swindon Crown Court last week, after pleading guilty to damaging property on January 7, damaging property by being reckless on January 22 and a further charge of damaging property on the same day.
Prosecutor Bob Welling said the couple's two-year relationship deteriorated after about 18 months because of his jealousy, and that on January 7 Mrs Dobson admitted having seen someone else, prompting Haakanson to damage property inside the house.
The car attack came after he was bailed and returned to the house on January 22.
However, Mrs Dobson insists that it was Haakanson who was unfaithful.
She said: "I was very upset when I read what he said in court. It didn't seem to be enough that he put me and my 11-year-old son through such a frightening experience now he is telling lies about me in court.
"That night when he crashed through my house was the most terrifying and horrendous night of my life.
"He completely destroyed the front wall, living room and staircase, and my son Aaron and I have been camping out in rented accommodation ever since.
"I have also been suffering from anxiety, nightmares and flashbacks.
"I find it very difficult to get to sleep. I think it is because the crash was at 3am. I lie there thinking that something terrible is going to happen again and I can't sleep.
"I don't feel so frightened now that I know he is in prison, but I was so upset when I heard what he said in court.
"He was always finishing with me and then begging me to take him back, and he was being unfaithful as well."
Mrs Dobson added that builders had told her that her house would take another six weeks to repair.
