A SERIES of art classes is being held at a gallery in Old Town.

Anne Radu Fine Art, on Eastcott Road, is the venue for a series of classes starting on Saturday, April 5.

People will have the chance to try out mosaics, painting, glass painting, pastels, drawing and collage. The cost is £25 per day.

Then, on Saturday, April 12, there is the opportunity for beginners to try their hand at painting. The cost is £17.50 for the day.

On Sunday, April 13, the gallery is hosting an improvers painting workshop and on Saturday, April 26, there is a parent and child workshop.

Anne Radu is a professional painter and formerly lectured at Swindon College.

She said: "Although I've been teaching art for years, this is something new.

"People kept asking me if I'd teach them, so it started on request - in particular people asked me if I could help them with acrylics.

"A lot of people said they really liked my teachers and would like to learn to paint but have never found the right teacher.

"I think people like learning from an artist because it is a little bit different."

The gallery also hosts classes throughout the year.
