I AM pleading to the council officers to think hard before they build any more public buildings with inadequate parking.

Time and time again we read in the Evening Advertiser of lack of parking at the Great Western Hospital. The installation of a park and ride would obviously alleviate this problem let's go for it!

More recently a new problem has arisen that of the wonderful state-of-the-art New College in Queens Drive. Yes, you guessed it, not enough parking.

Cars are even parking in the main entrance road. I am sure it will only be a matter of time before they too litter the grass verges.

We have an insufficient bus service the majority of residents in Swindon are unable to get where they want when they want!

Therefore we travel by car.

You complain the revenue from car parks is down. If you keep taking the car parks away, it isn't rocket science to work out why.

The normal resident in Swindon needs to drive to a place of work or play. Come on, wake up give us the adequate parking we need.

You will create a ghost town we will all shop in the shopping centres on the outskirts that offer plenty of parking.

Also, if you keep the cars off the roads, no-one will buy them, there will be no road tax and petrol revenue and less need for mechanics etc which will lead to job losses.
