JUNIOR RUGBY: CHIPPENHAM U11s tasted defeat in their first match under the club's new mobile floodlights. The home side could only manage a solitary unconverted try. The second half mirrored the first with more tries from Walcot, one of which was converted.

The try scorers were Harry Neal and Olivia Johnson, with the conversion coming from the boot of Jacob Emery.

Chippenham's Mini Playing section played host to teams from Supermarine at Allington Field on Sunday.

The U8s Sharks and Thrashers both faced Supermarine. Daniel Vertessy, Jamie Atkin, Robert Moore and William Waddington were the try scorers as the Sharks triumphed by four tries to one. The Thrashers drew 4-4. Two tries from Thomas North and one each from newcomer George Burkinshaw and Hugh Campbell put the home side in front, but George Ellis equalised with two minutes left.

The U9s won one and lost one of their two matches. Michael Allies grabbed four tries as they beat Supermarine 8-0 in their first game, with two coming from Hal Bailey and singles from Ben Cook, Ales Collyer.

Supermarine's Joe Sawyer scored four tries and Luke Symonds two as the visitors beat Chippenham 6-1 in the second match. Jake Nickless scored Chippenham's solitary only try.

The Under 11s ran in seven tries on their way to a 45-10 triumph, Olivia Johnson grabbing a hat-trick and Louis Blackburn scoring twice. Jake Emery and Matthew Burrows also scored, with conversions coming from Tom Smith, Emery, James Howells, Burrows and Harry Smith. The U12s won all three games with Supermarine.
