A PUB in Holt has got through to the final six of a national competition for the fourth time running.
The Tollgate Inn has reached the finals in the catering pub of the year category of the prestigious publican awards.
Alison Ward-Baptiste, joint owner with Alexander Venables, said: "Our food is modern British with a Mediterranean edge. Our menu changes daily and includes fish, mussels and oysters delivered fresh every day from Brixham.
"We've been running for four years now and are pleased to be nominated again for this highly competitive award."
The pair pride themselves on their reputation, which draws customers from far and wide and ensures the pub repeatedly makes it to the finals of this award. The judges consider all aspects of the business, not just the food, but the care and attention that goes into its preparation.
Ray Huntzinger, from competition sponsor JohnsonDiversy, said: "The aim of sponsoring the Catering Pub of the Year award is to bring the importance of hygiene to the forefront of every caterer's mind."
The publican awards, launched in 1991, reward excellence in pub retailing and industry names will gather at Grosvenor House in London, where the winners will be announced.
