RETAINED firefighter Keith Daborn is retiring after clocking up nearly 25 years service with the Brigade.
Leading firefighter Daborn lives within a stone's throw of the Westbury fire station and has attended some of Wilt-shire's biggest blazes during his service.
At his last drill night at the Westbury fire station he recalled some of the big fires he has attended.
He said: "Among the incidents which I recall are the Warminster high street fire and the Doctor Who blaze at Longleat.
"Then there were the West-bury floods, the fire at St James Church and the Unigate blaze in Trowbridge."
Mr Daborn's official retirement function is planned for tonight at the town's Paragon hall when many of his colleges past and present will help him celebrate.
