A HEAD-ON collision on a busy Melksham road has sparked calls for urgent safety improvements.
Two women were injured when a red Fiesta and white Astra collided on the B3107 at Challeymead at 8.40am on Monday.
A woman from Broughton Gifford was freed from the wreckage and taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath with multiple injuries. A second woman, from Warminster, was treated for minor chest injuries.
The accident closed off the B3107 from the West of Midland Farmers roundabout for several hours. A 60mph zone covers the Challeymead junction which residents are campaigning to be reduced to 30mph.
