SWINDON and Wiltshire's mentoring co-ordinator Helena Cleverley has appealed to employees of local businesses to step forward and make a difference to a young person's life.
Mentoring offers an adult the chance to work with a young person and help coach their personal development. Many organisations have found taking part has proved a valuable form of community activity for their staff, allowing a business to make a positive difference to a community.
Helena said: "Employees develop new skills and qualities, which enhance their effectiveness and contribute to their personal development. This contributes to a happy and satisfied workforce.
"Mentoring can provide a number of students with the benefit of working with an independent adult from a business environment, not only in terms of personal development, but in their aspirations for work."
