A FATHER-OF-TWO managed to escape from a police car while being arrested for drink-driving.
Dean Gunning, 21, jumped out the back of a police car in Fore Street before officers could carry out a breath-test, but later gave himself up at the town police station.
Gunning was stopped in his Jaguar in Fore Street at 2.20am on March 8, when patrolling officers heard him sounding his horn at a group of revellers.
Tested at the police station at 4.30am his levels were measured at 45mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.
Gunning, who works at Challenge Tyres, admitted drink-driving and failing to provide a roadside breath test when he appeared before Trowbridge magistrates on Thursday.
Defence solicitor Trevor Line said Gunning had been drinking at Club FX before driving into the town to pick up his relative.
