A POOL tournament in memory of Paul Rodgers is to be held in Trowbridge this weekend.
The 32-year-old died on the pavement at Broadcloth Lane in the town after being stabbed in the chest in May last year.
Mr Rodgers was a talented pool player who represented England and this tournament has been organised by the Trowbridge and District Pool League.
Organiser Russ Matthews said: "He is sorely missed. Paul was a bubbly lad and was one of our most successful players.
"His memory will continue through, what we hope, becomes an annual competition."
Mr Rodgers' younger brother, Wayne, 30, said: "I'm pleased with the support and that people will be remembering him in this way."
The tournament will take place at Terry's Nite Spot and anyone interested in taking part needs to sign in at between 12 noon and 1pm tomorrow.
Entry for the competition costs £2 and is open to anyone, with a minimum of £200 cash prizes guaranteed. For more information call Russ Matthews on 07831 830 038.
