CHIPPENHAM boss Tommy Saunders has added Swindon Town youngster Ian Herring to his ranks ahead of the Bluebirds' trip to Moor Green.

Herring has been drafted in to bolster Saunders' stuttering squad who have collected just two points from their last three Premier Division games.

The teenage midfielder had been plying his trade for Salisbury City in a temporary deal, but Saunders has poached him with the help of Jimmy Fraser Swindon Town Youth Development Officer and occasional Chippenham player.

"We've got Ian, probably until the end of the season," confirmed Saunders.

"He has been on work experience at Salisbury if you like, but I spoke to Jimmy Fraser and he thought Ian would benefit from doing his work experience at a higher level."

Herring goes straight into the squad to face mid-table Moor Green, but he will probably have to settle for a place on the bench as Mark Badman returns from injury.

Simon Charity reverts to right-back at Shane Andrews' expense and Matt Rawlins is in contention to replace out-of-form Charlie Griffin on the right-wing.

Griffin may find himself in his preferred striking role with both Adie Mings and Martin Paul struggling for goals at the moment.

Opponents Moor Green have enjoyed a recent purple patch, with good results against Crawley and Cambridge City lifting them to 10th after many had tipped them for the drop earlier in the campaign.
