I am against war on Iraq, and do not hate the USA or any other nation. My vision of the world is one of mutual tolerance.
This is why I hold my views.
Firstly, without the second UN resolution, this war is illegal under international law.
Secondly, the main case made for war is that of a terror threat. However, bombing Iraqi civilians will create more terrorism and more disgruntled people, not fewer. The only long-term solution to deal with terrorists is to address the poverty and inequality that breed such feelings of hatred. After all, the September 11 hijackers used box-cutters not "weapons of mass destruction"!
With regard to the moral case, yes, Saddam is a brutal dictator and does kill his people, but please consider this. In the last Gulf War, 200,000 Iraqis (both military and civilian) died. The UN estimate suggests that this time with fighting in Baghdad the toll will be 500,000. I believe more people will be killed than saved by this war.
