THREE-LETTER acronyms aren't everyone's favourite way of describing things and I think we need to operate on the new hospital management quickly before we're stuck with an acronym that doesn't say what it means. It seems that instead of being known as GWH, some people want Great Western Hospital to be called TGW.

Unaccountably there's a suggestion that GWH might be confused with a railway, a radio station, a vehicle hire firm or even a hotel near the station. On the other hand, perhaps I could venture to suggest that TGW sounds more like a trade union that a hospital?

If you agree, then let's all agree that Great Western Hospital should be GWH for short (just like PMH used to be PMH not TPM).
